Another songturnedpoem. I like some of the metaphors and imagery, but of course I would like it. This is your choice. Happy reading! P

With no regard for human life,

I left you

in the cold.

I left you

in the darkness,

then my soul was

sold

-

I gave my eyes

away.

I sold to them my

tears.

I let them taste my

blood.

This went on for years.

-

Soon I could not hear

what they were telling me.

I became

useless

so they set me free…

-

All the

sound

is gone,

and who am I to be?

Here I'm

forever screaming

my silent threnody…

-

They took my sight,

they took my tears,

they took my life,

they took all those years

That I spent with you.

Alone in this lifetime,

and now they are claiming you

As being all of mine

-

Shall I ever be redeemed?

Ever let to live again?

Given back my tears

to cry for all my sin?

-

All the

sound

is gone,

and who am I to be?

Here I'm

forever screaming

my silent threnody…
