knuckles grip the wheel in the dark
a shift of gears with the glow of delight
as the music mumbles ‘leave it all behind’

(and the rosary swings,
the rosary swings)

the pedal meets the floor
as an attempt to leave the haze
of city lights
while not even your fuel gauge
can beckon you home

(and the rosary sings,
the rosary sings)

the tiny treasures hanging ‘round our mirrors
mock us as they sway
(ever) so softly
back and forth
and sometimes i wonder
what secrets they know

(as the rosary swings,
the rosary sings)
