The Act

The kiln of life tempers the soul

The kind man knows his whole-

O sweet innocence, sweet regret

Some things we must forget-

Passion often burns all reason

Evil thoughts, desires of the season-

Divine must save once the mind is set-

God stands mighty tall

But even angels sometimes fall-

All will know eternity’s dark silhouette-

All souls anger, all souls sin

Morals unheard over the din-

Kindness, silence, forgiveness met-
