Toy Soldier

I see the stars through my window,
Brightly shining all their glory;
Telling stories of the past
And twinkling smugly at my sins.

(Breathe; until I find what I’m looking for.
Breathe; all I’ve ever wanted and more.)

I see the stars through my window,
Telling me what to do;
Give everything my best
And get nothing at all.

(Breathe; with an all new purpose: keep that something in mind.
Breathe; and remember what they’ve done for me.
Breathe; sacrifice what you’ve got and make difference today.)

I see the crowd through my eyes
And stay away from the scene.
I hear my thoughts running faster,
So I believe in my dreams.

(Breathe; for compassion and for truth.
Breathe; for the future, not the past.)

I see the storm in my mind,
And it’s raging inside.
I hear thunder calling out
And tell them all how I feel.

(Breathe; swimming in the ashes of my dreams.
Breathe; hiding in the shadows of my friends.
Breathe; though I’m but a maelstrom of emotion.)

Breathe; until I find what I’m looking for.
Breathe; all I’ve ever wanted and more.
Breathe; with an all new purpose: keep that something in mind.
Breathe; and remember what they’ve done for me.
Breathe; sacrifice what you’ve got and make difference today.
Breathe; for compassion and for truth.
Breathe; for the future, not the past.
Breathe; swimming in the ashes of my dreams.
Breathe; hiding in the shadows of my friends.
Breathe; though I’m but a maelstrom of emotion.
Breathe; until my very last breath.

I'm suffocating.
