i find (curiously) yours is a comforting presence.
and i miss you often.
you are neither sure nor steady, when it comes to behavior.
hardly is anything known, yet still-
amid frustration, i would rather have you far but around,
than have you nowhere to be found.
again! the band is striking up and making me say these things.
i’ll pull my thesaurus out to find some other catchy phrase,
some other clever rhyme.
again! you’ll make me do the strangest things-
i’ve never admitted before, not even,
to myself,
how very sentimental i am about you.
(oh i’m sentimental i’m the best at it but not with you whoknowswhy? but not with you)
but now, yes, i’ll admit it. i am. i get those soft eyes and the fluttering.
it’s so curious how comforting you are. when all is strange and uncertain,

even from you,

i still find i miss you often.
