Skeletal hands reach through walls

Twisting my words

And taking the rest

Back through the black hole

From which they came.

Goblins dart from darkened corners

To push my legs

So I stumble

And knock into you

While they chuckle.

Medusas leer at me

From over your shoulder

Paralyzing me completely

So I can neither speak nor move

As you stare at me.

Many more monsters lurk

Though they only seem to appear

When I’m near you.

And though I blame monsters

For my behavior around you

I know that it is really all my fault

And some of yours

Because I’m in love with you.
