My curiosity informed my actions

on that October afternoon as I inquired

the entire world of your history

shock filled my face

and scandals crossed my mind

reputation preceding the truth

luckily it took but a week

for me to learn more than the reports

when surrounded by warm veracity

mouths full of fish

my first judgments fell on deaf hearts

I could not help but trust

and now even as the past continues to be your legacy

I cannot allow that cruelty to blind me
