Promises are Made to Be broken – 15 – I Know This is Belated, But I love You Bad.

I carefully climbed up onto the podium and gazed my critical, icy-blue orbs over my reflection in the three mirrors surrounding me.

The tailor circled me like a hawk, muttering under her breath while occasionally shifting a pin or adding lines for areas to be sew or chopped.

‘Are you happy with the design Miss Scott?’ Mrs. Walkins asked, looking at me from over the top of her glasses.

No. I look like a marshmallow; who deserves to be roasted over a camp fire.

I looked at her with a fake smile.

‘Could we remove some of the lace? I feeling like I am wearing my wedding cake not my weeding dress….”

From the rather indignant look on her face, I’d say that I offended her.

Oh well… I’m paying her to do what I say… her fault she chose the profession.…

‘Very well ma’am. It’s your special day after all. Anything else?’ She asked after she’d leant over to a note book on her desk and scribbled some notes.

I looked critically at the dress.

‘I am actually starting to hate this dress… I really do not agree with Roger’s mothers taste. May I look at your stock?’ I asked rather sheepishly once I saw the exasperated look adorn her old, wrinkly face. She shuffled off without a word.

Within moments though she return with a large and heavy looking book.

I stepped down off the dressing-podium and sat on the chair at the consultant desk.

Mrs. Walkins sat opposite me and placed the book in front of me.

I lifted the heavy cover to see large photographs of models in various wedding dress, ranging from the alarmingly ugly to the not so alarmingly ugly.

After I had sifted and criticised my way through the book, none of them had particularly grasped my fancy.

Mrs. Walkins whose first name I found out to be Mary looked at me through expert eyes. ‘If none of them please you, we do have some new stock that has just arrived. Would you like to wander through out shop?’ I looked up at her and smiled.

I nodded and got up and followed her through to the stop section.

I wandered around the store looking at various dresses.

I liked most of them so afar but didn’t love any of them.

They were either a little too poofy, or lacy, or girly, or bowy, or ribbony or I just… would rather a different dress to that one.

Typically, Like all good stories, at the very back of the store I found the perfect dress.

And it kinda did feel like it does in the story books.

Pure elation and relief… as me be me had put off buying the dress… till just two weeks before the wedding.

‘This is it… This is the dress I want… well the style…’ I said pointing to the picture of the one I had chosen.

It was a slightly off-white in the picture, with a corset bodice and poofy skirts. It was strapless; the bodice was plain and simple save for the thin lacing up the right side.

The actually skirt of the dress was the most amazing part. It was made of just different layers of different types of material; cut slowly short to be able to see the different layers.

I rubbed the silky material between my fingers and grinned.

‘Does it come in any other colours?’ I asked Mary Mrs. Walkins

‘Cream, White, Egg-Shell, Snow and Blanco’ Mary said.

I blinked at her.

‘So… basically it comes in white?’

Mary gave me a ‘duh’ look.

‘It’s a b-r-i-d-a-l shop… we sell white dresses.’

‘Oh… course, silly me’

At this Mary snorted ‘quietly’ to herself

‘Um… Can I please get it in a size 10 and in the cream please?’ I asked as though I weren’t interrupted.

She shuffled off to her computer and typed away with her false nails.

‘Sorry Ma’am’

My stomach dropped.

‘But our delivery service is unable to run due to unknown circumstances. So we can sell you that dress on the stands and attempt to alter it, if you wish. Or you can wait the fortnight for the company to resume its deliveries.’

I stood, looking at her in disbelief. How typical.

‘If you decide to take the one from the display, then we can give you a discount of 20’ Mary said somewhat robically.

‘What size is the one on display?’ I asked, fearing the answer.

‘Size 12’

I let out a huge sigh of relief.

‘I shall take that dress please; with the discount of course’ I said as I glanced at the clock

‘Shoot! I have to get back to work’ I placed one of my business cards on the desk

‘There are all my details, Sorry to rush out like this!’ I said half way out the door.

‘I’ll call you!’ Were my final departing words before running down the bustling street as well as I could in my corporate high heels.

I stood at the large foggy glass doors; I quickly gave my hair a once-over, straightened my black-and-white pin stripe suit and quickly applied band-aids to my blistered heels (from my un-normally high, high-heels).

I pushed open the double doors and smiled at the few work associates who were wandering around carrying various documents and folders.

I walked over to Mia, my… Well I guess she’s my PA…

“Hey Mia, any new cases? Sorry that I am a little late… stupid bridal shop lady…”

Mia let out a chuckle and handed me a small bundle of papers.

“Thanks bub” I said walking into my office.

I sat at my desk and skimmed through the first few pages.

I worked at a teen, girl magazine as chief photographer.

Yeah, Pathology was too hard and too much work… I always was lazy…

Slowly I re-read the paragraph I had just skimmed to make sure I read it right.

MEMO FOR JADE SMITH:
Photo shoot for band to go in the article about new and upcoming bands.

Please report to STUDIO FIVE at 14:30 on 05/04/00.

Maria James – Chief editor of Teen Dream Magazine

I gulped and looked at my watch.

2:23

I got up and ran as best I could in my sore, blistered feet.

Cursing the inventor of high heels, I grabbed my ID card that let me into the studio off my desk.

My heels slid on the shiny linoleum flooring as I skidded to a halt outside a large, mauve door with a large gold 5 painted on in red.

Those colours clash so horribly…

I swiped my ID card and opened the door.

I fumbled for the light switch in the pitch blackness of the room.

“Let there be light” I mumbled as I finally found the switch.

I wandered around the room, adjusting lights, setting up cameras and tri-pods and occasionally adjusting backdrops.

A soft knock at the door sounded.

“HOLD ON A SEC!!” I hollered, hoping that they would hear me through the solid door.

I was balancing a lamp on my foot, and holding two, huge white light reflectors.

I quickly and careful placed the reflectors on their poles and kicked up the lamp and placed it in the corner.

I ran to the door and ripped it open.

Mia was standing their nervously with four men behind her.

“Hi Jade, this is the band you’re photographing, Their called the… um…” She glanced down at the paper “The…um… The…” she trailed off obviously having no idea what the band was called.

“We’re called Media Lies” said one of the band boys, stepping forward and holding out his hand to shake.

“Pleased to meet you, My name is Jade, please step through” I said shaking his hand, then stepping aside to let them through.

Once inside I turned to Mia,

“Thanks Mia, could you come back in an hour to collect them?”

Mia smiled and nodded then walked back to her desk.

Closing the door, I stuck a sign on it that read: ‘SESSION IN PROCESS’

I turned and smiled at the band.

“Well, as you know, I’m Jade and as you probably guessed; your photographer for today.”

The band nodded and looked around the room.

“Thanks for agreeing to do the shoot, I was just wondering if you had any ideas, plans, wants, for your shoot today?” I said to them, feeling rather like a recording.

A girl with short, fire-red hair turned and smiled at me.

“Well, I was thinking no single shots, just group pictures” I nodded along to her words and wrote a few notes on my sheet.

A boy with jagged black hair that had started swinging a pair of drum sticks around; turned to me.

“Yo, do we have any other back… thingies than this one?” He pointed behind him and the blaring canary-yellow backdrop that was currently on show.

I grinned and shook my head with a small laugh.

“Nah, we can actually project a picture of your choice onto the backdrop, but we do have a few printed backdrops, like that one” I smiled.

I ran a critical eye over the four of them, there were three boys and one girl.

“So who plays what?”

“Jessi is on the drums”

Jagged black hair boy Jessi Drums

“Mac is on Bass Guitar”

Blonde Mac Bass Guitar

“Jodi is our lead singer”

Chick Jodi Lead Singer

“And I’m Dean, I play guitar”

Cocky Dean Guitar

I nodded at them.

“So, any ideas on what you want?”

“Not really……” Mac said, while examining my camera.

I nodded

“Ok well… Let’s get started” I said with a large grin.

“Thanks guys, I’ll keep you posted” I said, waving Media Lies off into Mia’s capable hands.

I ran a hand through my hair and looked around the room.

I shut down the laptops and turned all the electronics off.

I turned off the lamps and put all the equipment in their respective areas.

I switched off the lights and exited the studio.

I made the short elevator trip up to the floor my office is on and slowly trudged to my office.

I sat down with a thump and began to fill out some paper work.

I downloaded the photos onto my computer and began to make a few adjustments with the computer and simply admired them.

After around forty minutes of editing and fiddling I emailed them off to Maria the main editor.

I looked around my office.

My eye caught some old photos sticking out of a draw.

Furrowing my eyebrows I wandered over to it and yanked them out.

I smiled down at them as I realised they were old photos from when I was little.

They were mostly of me and Sean.

At the beach…

In a park…

At Christmas when I was three…

One where I was smiling at the camera and Sean was kissing my cheek.

An over-whelming loss of my brother consumed me.

I walked back over to my desk and dialled my brother’s number without hesitation.

After only a few rings it was picked up.

“Hello?” a voice I didn’t recognise picked up

“Erm… Hello… is Sean there?”

There was a short pause then the voice of my brother filled my ears.

“Hey lil sis” I let a huge grin grace my lips.

“Hey Big bro, whats up?”

“Not much, shouldn’t I ask you though? You’re the one that called.”

“I just… miss you is all… and I found some old photos… and just wanted a chat I guess… by the way, who was it that answered the phone?”

“oh… erm… that was… um…” Sean stuttered

“Oi! Sean! Who’s the chick on the phone??” I heard the same voice ask from the background.

Sean stayed silent

“Well?” I heard the impatient voice ask

“It’s… um…erm… Jade”

I felt slightly offended and annoyed at being left out.

“Sean! Who is that???” I asked impatiently.

“Erm… Jade… It’s Dimitri…”

“Oh…” I said pathetically.

“Well… um… I better go…” I glanced at the clock “Roger will be here soon…”

Sean had stayed silent till he heard Roger’s name, which he then let out a low growl.

I rolled my eyes.

“Don’t forget, the wedding is in one and a half weeks… Please be there…”

“I will, see you then”

“Yeah, bye” and I immediately hung up.

I walked out to see Mia madly typing away, her fingers going so fast I had trouble seeing them.

“Hey Mia… I think I’m gonna call it a day… I’ll see you tomorrow…. Oh, and do you mind checking that Maria got all the photos from today? I know that Erin and Jack were talking photos today as well”

“Sure Jade, I’ll do that now, Have a good evening!” Mia said, a large smile never leaving her face.

I rushed back to my office and gabbed my hand bag and my messenger bag and walked out of the office towards the elevator.

After a short ride to the ground floor, I saw Roger standing in the lobby waiting for me.

I shuffled over to him due to my blisters and gave him a hug and kiss.

“Hi hun, how was your day?” I asked him nicely

“Oh, not too bad, better for seeing you though… Let’s go home, I have some wedding news for you!” He smiled back at me.

I let out a girly squeal.

I took a step then recoiled due to the blisters. I growled in frustration and took off my heels.

I walked out the door and to Roger’s car in just my stockings, probably making holes in the bottom of them in the process.

A week later I was feeling rather nervous about the fast approaching wedding.

Everything was planned out, Roger and booked a place in the large park, rather close to our house (We’ve already moved into the house “we” bought about a month ago), we have only had one negative RSVP, My dress is fine and gorgeous and the caterers are all on schedule.

I lay on the couch looking at the ceiling.

Suddenly Roger ran in the room looking frantic.

“Sean’s plane was cancelled for that day due to lack of flyers, the only one he could get arrives an hour later!!!”

I sat bolt upright.

“Ohhhh no, no you’re joking right? Nope… not happening!” I started to panic.

“Its ok, we’ll either figure something out… or we have to do it without him…” Roger trailed off.

“… But he’s meant to walk me down the aisle… can I talk to him?”

“He’s talking to the airline company too see if there is somehow they can squeeze him onto an earlier flight…”

I slumped back down into my seat. The wedding is only one and a half days away, and my own brother can’t get to it… great.

The next day, I was sitting in my office, re-editing some photos that Maria had rejected for the magazine, saying they weren’t up to the standard.

I was madly clicking away, removing blotches, lines, imperfections of the tiniest amount. My fingers started to lock from the annoying amount of clicking that was involved.

I love my job… I love my job… I love my job… I love my… Roger?!?!?

Standing in the doorway was Roger, haloed in light, my hero…

Not.

“Hey Roger, Whats up?” I asked, gladly stretching my fingers and taking a break from the insane clicking.

“Just wanted to see if you wanted to go grab a bite to eat, I got an extended lunch break today and thought I’d swing by.”

I weighted my options: Having a nice lunch with my fiancé… or sitting at a desk insanely clicking away at perfect photos.

“Sure, give me a sec just to email these to Maria.” I said to Roger and hurriedly emailed the photos to Maria.

I leant back into my chair and sighed.

I got up and put of my god-forsaken high heels with a small groan.

As I stood I wobbled a little, and then walked out to tell Mia that I was on my lunch break.

She grinned at me as I walked off with Roger

“Stay SAFE!!” I heard Mia call after me; I stuck my tongue out at her over my shoulder.

We walked a little way until we saw a nice looking restaurant that was open for lunch.

“Bonjour Madam! Oh, and you sir, of course; just a table for two then?” Asked a way to happy waiter.

“Erm… yeah… please” I said, looking at Roger feeling slightly awkward

I followed the waiter to a small table in the back of the room.

I sat down and glanced at the menu. Only then did I realise I was missing my fiancé…

I looked around the café, craning my neck to try and spot Roger.

Groaning in frustration, I signalled the waiter over.

“Yes Ma’am, how may I help you?” He asked politely.

“Ah yes, I was wondering if you know the location of my boyfriend… he seems to have run off somewhere…” to prove that I really didn’t know where Roger was I started to look over the waiters shoulders, appearing to be searching for him.

“Yes Ma’am, I believe he has temporally retired to the rest rooms, he should be along shortly”

I sighed in relief and nodded my thanks as he walked away.

I turned my attention back to the menu… well I would have if a certain person hadn’t caught my eye.

“… James?” I whispered to myself

I looked around for my friendly waiter; I called him over again and patiently waited for his arrival.

“Could you please deliver a message to the boy… er… men at table…” I craned my neck to see the table number “Um, at table 20?”

“Sure Miss, what is your message”

“Oh, could you please just ask the Blonde boy… -ahem-… man to look over at me please? I think he’ll take it from there…” I grinned up at the waiter, who’s name tag I finally read to discover his name was Pierre.

My eyes followed Pierre as he walked stiff-backed over to James and co. at their table.

I watched as Pierre bent down to whisper into James’s ear, I slightly blushed as Pierre pointed in my direction.

James’s head turned and as soon as he saw me, his face lit up.

“JADE!!!” He got up and speed-walked/ ran to me sitting at my table.

I stood up and held my arms open for him. I soon felt a strong weight barrel into me as I wrapped James in a huge hug.

“What are you doing here?” I asked, pulling out of the hug with a huge grin on my face.

“Um… Jade… What are you doing?” I looked to my left to see Roger standing there confused.

“Oh bub, this is James, do you remember? From Australia? We practically grew up together!” I grinned.

I turned back to James, not really giving Roger a chance to talk.

“So, why are you here? Not to be blunt and rude…” I trailed off.

“Oh, Sean told us the wedding was soon, so we came down as soon as we heard! Don’t think we could let little Jade-y get married without us, could you???” James asked rhetorically.

I shook my head at him

“Wait…”

Realisation hit me like a Mack truck

“’we’ you said we, who is we? Who did you come with?” I asked, rather frantically.

“Well… Derrick and Sean… and….erm…” He trailed off and shuffled his feet

“Dimitri… great… my ex is coming to my wedding… fantastic…” I mumbled.

“Come and sit with us, I’m sure we can just add two more chairs onto our table…” James trailed off with a huge grin.

“I donno… who are you sitting with?” I ask anxiously.

“Well… Sean is here, he and Dimitri just went to the bathroom… And Derrick is sitting over at the table.”

I looked at Roger

“Would you like to Roger? I would like to see everyone again… but just as I warning to could get rather awkward…” I looked at him rather pleadingly.

“Sure love, I don’t mind… but I don’t want you sitting next to Dimitri” Roger said, a steel twinge to his voice at the end.

I told Pierre our plan, and of course he enthusiastically agreed to.

I settled into my Seat, Roger was on my left and an empty seat next to me for Sean.

I ordered a bowl of spaghetti with a mushroom and chicken sauce. I looked at James and involuntarily let out a large smile. I looked to his right and saw a man who looked around my age, a mop of curly brown hair adorned his head and he had large, chocolate brown eyes.

“Hi Jade, I’ve missed you… how are you going?” the man asked me.

“… Derrick…?” My eyes widened in disbelief, he just looked very different.

“Yup” he grinned, obviously proud of how he now looked.

“Well, someone is looking good” I grinned at him.

Before he could reply, I saw Sean walk out of the bathroom.

I got up and ran over to him and bowled him over in a huge hug.

“SEAN! I’m missed you so much! I thought that there were plane troubles? How come you’re here?” I rushed out as I backed off him and stood in front of him.

“Missed you too lil sis! Well, they could squeeze us onto a flight last night… so we took it, and here we are!” He said, with his signature grin that I had missed a lot.

As we walked back to the table, all our lunches came out and we sat and caught up with each other.

For some reason my eyes kept wandering to a very silent Dimitri…

I stood shaking in front of the mirror in my dressing room.

I was taking large deep breaths to keep calm.

I was dressed in my wedding gown, my make-up and hair was perfect – not a hair out of place.

Gabrielle, Derrick’s Girlfriend; was made my maid of honour because as soon as we met, we hit off immediately.

As she walked into the room, she shuffled a little bit out of nerves.

“Yeah, Gabby?” I sensed her anxiousness.

“Um… Jade… Well… The florist got… mixed up and doesn’t have the order ready…… but it’s ok! We can pick some from the garden…” She hurriedly said, seeing my eyes widen.

Well, at least nothing else can go wrong…

At that moment, the door burst open and Derrick rushed in.

“Gabby, the caterers are stuck in a huge traffic jam on the highway… they can make it to the wedding… Were’s Jade, I need to tell her…” He said, slightly panting from the running he must have done.

“WHAT!!!” I roared

“Oh… ah… hi Jade… well….yeah…… caterers can’t make it… but I am calling around the local Restaurants and cafés to see if they can emergency cater.

Derrick ran out the door as I slumped into my chair.

“Great… We have no flowers… and our guests and us are all going to starve.

I looked in the mirror and leaned over and grabbed my eyeliner.

I started to add to my eyeliner so it was as thick as I usually wear it. Then I turned and wandered out into the small corridor and wandered to the window at one end.

I smiled as I saw the few. There were just trees for miles, littered with different greens and the occasional spot of colour as a flower peeped through.

-SMASH!-

I whirled around to see Gabby running out of my changing room.

“What was that?” I asked, dreading the answer

“Not sure, I’ll go find out” and with those parting words, Gabby ran off down the hall.

I turned back to the window, taking deep breaths, just trying to keep calm.

A small blue bird flew past the window; I smiled as it twittered past.

I head a small scuffle behind me, I spin around to see Gabby, standing there panting hard.

“Well… What was it?” I asked, very anxious

“Ah…… Well… one of the small marquees… erm… fell down… and it was the marquee that held the sound speakers… and they kinda… fell over… and um… don’t really work anymore…” She trailed off.

“Great… just great… What else can go wrong???” I asked frustrated.

Gabby walked over and gave me a hug. I squeezed back hard when I heard a clearing of a voice behind us.

I looked over Gabby’s shoulder and saw Sean.

I walked over to him and wrapped him up in a big hug.

“Hey Gabby, Give us a minute?” Sean asked Gabby.

“Sure, just don’t mess up Jade’s hair!” She jokingly warned him and then she walked off to find Derrick.

I turned to look at Sean, confused.

“Whats up?” I asked seeing Sean serious face.

“Someone who loves you, wants to talk to you before he is forced to watch you get married to a man you don’t love.”

“Excuse me??” I asked indignantly. “I’ll have you know, I love Di—Roger very much!” I blushed slightly at my stupid slip-up.

“No Jade, I don’t like the idea of my little sister being with someone, because then I know that you will look for protection from them and not me anymore… I hate the idea of you marrying… especially before me… but… its worse knowing that your marrying someone that you don’t love… and even worse than that… you only said yes to him to spite the man that you love

Sean turned and walked away, leaving me confused and no time to disprove his claims.

I stood stock-still in shock. That was till I heard foot steps approaching me.

I turned and saw Dimitri standing a few feet away from me. I coughed awkwardly at the silence.

Dimitri just stood still staring at me. Feeling a little awkward I cleared my throat.

“So… er… how can I help you?”

Awwwwkkkkwwwaaaaarrrrddddd

Dimitri’s eyes snapped back up to mine.

So looking at your assets

Shut up brain

“Um... Jade… I really need to speak with you…” Dimitri said nervously.

“Um… sure… Here, follow me” I lead him into my changing room and closed the door.

I sat down on a poofy chair and waited expectantly.

“well… I guess there isn’t really much point in beating around the bush… so here goes…” He took a deep breath and sat on a chair, opposite me.

“Jade… I still love you… I need you to know before you go off and marry another man… I cant live without you… I don’t care how pathetic I sound… I know that I have made so many stupid and awful mistakes; the look of hurt on your face never leaves me, especially because I know that it is all my fault… I cant even begin on all the number of pathetic excuses I have so many… all I ask is for you to look me in the eyes and tell me that you don’t love me anymore”

I blinked.

I had kinda expected this… but not to the extent.

He looked so vulnerable and sincere.

I looked him dead in the eyes and whispered

“I do love you, but so often love just isn’t enough… I want to here all your excuses. I want you to just hold me, I don’t want you to just say you love me, I want you to show me you love me… I … I don’t know you anymore… I want more than the world to be with you… I’d cut off my right arm to be with you…” I trailed off

“But…” Dimitri said in an extremely chocked voice.

“But I’m getting married… and… and you had your chance… I want so badly to just run into your arms and let you hold me… but things just hold me back…”

There was a timid knock at the door.

Sean poked his head in.

“um… Jade… its down the aisle time… unless Dimitri has managed to whisk you away… but from your tears I guess not… well, I’ll grab Gabby to come and fix your make up and then lets get you married I guess…” Sean said in a sad, defeated tone.

As Sean ran off to find Gabby, Dimitri got up to leave, he turned to me and I saw he was crying.

“I’m sorry that you feel like the time you spent with me was a waste… to me it was the highlight of my life… I’m so sorry I ever hurt you, you don’t deserve that, I just wish I knew what I had before I had to endure the sight of you walking down the aisle towards a man who isn’t me…”

When he was met by silence from me he simply walked out the door.

I sat on the chair numb, a void of everything partly human-ish.

I barely felt Gabby mopping up my tears with tissue and fixing my hair and make-up.

“Common Jade, it’s time to go” I heard Sean say as I felt myself being lifted off the chair.

“It’s not to late…” Sean trailed off hopefully

I couldn’t answer; I just didn’t feel the connection between my mouth and my brain.

Before I knew it, a large stretch of red fabric was lain out before me.

I barely heard the soft wedding march playing through the least damaged of the speakers.

I barely noticed the lack of flowers.

All I could concentrate on was the floor and the soft tugs on my arm reminding me that I had to take a step.

When I looked up to see Roger’s smiling face, I couldn’t help but feel how… how wrong it felt.

I numbly felt Sean place my hand in Roger’s outstretched one.

I looked out into the sea of people briefly, I saw Mia, Derrick, James, Sean, Gabby (well, she was behind me, being the maid of honour and all) and lastly I saw Dimitri.

He was standing up the back looking solemn.

But oh so sexy.

No! Bad Jade Bad! Roger, Roger is the sexy one! Roger Roger Roger!!!

“If anyone objects to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your piece” I heard the marriage celebrant say.

I looked at Dimitri and found myself almost pleading with him to say something.

Of course he didn’t.

I turned and looked at Roger, my smile was completely fake.

“… In sickness and in health, till Death do you part?”

“I do” I saw Roger beam

Man time flies when your having “fun”… this ceremony has moved fast… eep! I think I am meant to say something soon!

“And do you, Jade Amber Scott, Take Roger James Adams to be your lawfully wedded husband, for better or for worse…”

I tuned out and looked at Dimitri again…

“…Till Death do you part?” The marriage celebrant concluded.

“I… I… um… well I…” I stumbled, feeling utterly stupid.

I looked at Dimitri… to Sean… to Dimitri… to Sean again, only to Sean give me a small nod and jerked his head in Dimitri’s direction.

“I… I don’t think that I can… I am so sorry Roger… I understand if you hate me now… but I just can’t marry you… please, I hope you forgive me…”

But if you don’t, I recon that I will live…

Pushing my rather insincere thoughts away, I felt a few tears build up and I ran out of the Marquee and just kept running.

I can’t believe I just left someone at the alter…well… I would have if we’d had an alter…

After running a small way a collapsed and lent against a tree trunk, thinking about what I had just done.

“Jade! Jade! Jade, there you are!” Panted a tired Sean.

“I’m so proud of you!” Sean grinned.

“I feel like such a horrible person” I muttered

“Trust me, divorce would be much worse than that… or a lifetime with someone you don’t love…” Sean comforted.

“Jade… Jade are you ok?” I heard a nervous voice ask.

I looked up to see… who else but Dimitri.

To this day, I do not know why I did what I did next… but I’m sure glad that I did.

I ran over to Dimitri and just hugged him.

I loved being in his embrace.

I just loved feeling loved….especially by him.

Dimitri timidly lent down and kissed me.

Immediately I kissed back.

But after a few seconds I pulled away.

“What are you doi----“

“Shh…” Dimitri whispered and kissed me again.

I pulled away when I heard cheering and clapping from behind me.

I turned to see Mia, Gabby, Derrick, Sean and James clapping.

Blushing I pushed my head into Dimitri’s chest.

“Do you know how beautiful… no… stunning… no… goddessly you look in that dress?”

I grinned up at him

“I don’t think ‘goddessly’ is a word” I giggled… yes I giggled

“I don’t care” Dimitri whispered before he kissed me again

This time… this all feels right…

Ok guys… I know I said I was going to do a sequel… but every time I started to write it… it just didn’t seem to work… and I saw no point in writing a sequel as I really had no idea what I was going to write about in it.

I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU!!!!! To everyone who as every review or read my story, you guys are the reason I keep writing; just talking those few seconds out of your life to review really makes my day and is greatly appreciated. So a big thanks to:

And of course, the Gorgeous .x or Kat; to whom I would not have been inspired to write and she has always been there to help me with this story, without her it would be nothing.

Also, up-and-coming stories I am writing:

+ A medieval/ Middle ages love story

+ A vampire love Story

And lastly, I just wanna thank everyone again for sticking with this story (for those who have) as the first chapters really sucked and only the last few am I really happy with.

So thank you all, Love Mel xx.
