A year and a half later

A year and a half later

And I’m still alive.

Am I? Still alive?

This is the part of the commercial

where the treated people run through fields.

Where the drugs have kicked in

And life is bright

and full

and happy.

My psychiatric cocktail,

Prozac, Seroquel, Effexor,

Lamictal, Klonopin, Ambien

Panacea for all my supposed woes,

Keeps time for the hollow expanse of my life.

No fields,

Just days

running one after the other

till the end.
