What silent promise did humanity foresee?

Storm approaching, near at hand

Lightning crash, wind blown sand-

Should evil wield the greater power?

Should nature’s ferocity devour?

Strong waves smash the weak

Mighty men dash the meek-

Should city rest on sand?

Should weak values stand?

Many stalwart men will flee

Their unstable city by the sea-

Should the mighty city fall?

Should mortal strength forestall?

Unstoppable force will run its course

Marching onward without remorse-

Should death yield to melancholy?

Approaching storm, near at hand

Waves summon the silent land-

Should the sweet breath leave?

Should the bitter death weave?

Foundations built on shore of death

Waves steal the unsteady breath-

Should mortal flesh continue so?

Should unwise hands reap and sow?

Proud walled city, once golden by the sea

Desolate now, no promise be-
