The rock is stable, unmoving
All around him things are growing
Yet he remains still and silent
Never hurried, always patient
-
As the green, green plants fade away
The dull rock endures many days
Always waiting, biding his time
While the grass and trees pass their prime
-
He yearns for the day he'll be freed
No longer beneath earth, buried
To be used, build something, create
But for now he stays and he waits
-
The rock is stable, unmoving
All around him things are growing
Yet he remains still and silent
Never hurried, always patient
