Late Night Assiduous Nightmare

Stars fade into dust as we both stare
At each other’s eyes & you start to laugh
As we await the coming of the sunrise
While wrapping your arms around me

The night envelopes the moon’s illumination
As solitude dominates the firmament
Like the cloak of a forgotten
And conceals anything on its path

Seemingly alone and completely untouched
A sudden force of obscurity takes over
Leaving nothing but emptiness & pain
Ripping apart the memories of forever

Tears of acid scars my skin – cuts
& bruises linger inside my heart
A peck of misery, a peck of tragedy
The result of falling out of love

(But I never seem to get over that feeling)
