“Ill-fated”
Damp alley,
Cold and wet.
Living here I truly regret.
Seeing how the world’s gone bad,
Knowing now not to get mad.
When a curve ball goes your way
Show a smile and shine it all day.
But too bad this place’s gone in smoke.
A day with no sunshine or hope
Is the place I live in today
In this messed up world, with no place to sing and play.
I show the true colors of hate to this home,
And take down the wall I learned to control.
In this dungy alley,
Rat-infested and all
I’ve learned to call it home,
Summer to Fall.
End.
A/N: Poem one of “Annemarie” in the “Child Labor Arc”.
