I serve thee from dawn through noon and night;
Even my dreams find ways to keep me in your sight.
My soul may try to resist, when feeling guilty,
But I am weak and often enjoy the actions.
I serve thee in whatever I do in the day;
Most times I don’t even realize how much.
I serve thee at work, by snapping out orders.
I serve thee at school, by excluding others.
I serve thee at church, by distracting my friends.
I live in my old self, with a purposeful child’s ignorance
I serve thee by ignoring the Holy Spirit moment after moment
With my sinful heart – I serve thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! – and, unless God save me
I shall but serve thee, Satan, even unto death.
