Too Busy to Be

People hustle and they bustle
Their wallets all rustle
Burning every muscle
Trying to earn their place
But it's just a rat race
And no one has any space
To just be

They look up above
To find comfort and love
From some old man and a dove
Or some alien being
What keeps them from seeing
There's no need for believing
To just be?

They search far and deep
For a thing they can keep
That won't leave them in a heap
When come by and by
They find forever is a lie
Why won't they just try
To just be?

They find no consolation
Possessions bring only aggravation
Recession springs from their oblations
As their dreams and hopes still fall
It's really futile after all
So why can't they simply answer the call
To just be?

I mean, we're all truly one and the same
There is absolutely no one to blame
No reason for guilt, no reason for shame
You can't find love if you don't love yourself
Don't put compassion up on a shelf
For after all, the greatest of wealth
Is to just be
