Life is like a road

That starts at birth

And finishes at the time

When you leave earth.

Some peoples’ roads

Are barely a few feet long,

And some have roads

That seem to go on and on.

Some are born high on a hill

And remain that way ‘til the end

But some are born in a valley

And their road just will not bend.

Some are born so high up

They can’t see those lower down

They know that they are there

But they don’t want to lose their crown.

Some look down their road

And see a long, easy path

Yet some see rocks and obstacles

They can’t see a reason to laugh.

Some roads are high all along

Some go round and round

Some go up and down, down and up

Some stay at the level of ground.

So if you’re at the top

And know people at the ground

I’m sure they will appreciate

A little helping hand.
