To All Six of You
I miss your hugs
And the way your hair fell in your eyes.
I miss laughing with you
And how you made fun of my size.
I miss the times we would cry together
And even more the times we would smile,
Especially I miss you by my side
And the way you said “Be back in a while!”
I miss how I could call you for anything,
Even if it was the middle of the night.
And how you would say “It’s okay”
And even sometimes “It’s all right,”
So this is my tribute,
My apology written in word,
This is for all six of you,
To say the things you never heard.
I’m sorry I never made time
Or that you had to hear excuses.
I’m sorry I chose her over you,
In the end everyone loses.
I’m sorry I didn’t call you back,
How you had to talk to a machine,
I’m sorry I wasn’t there when you needed me,
This is such a never-ending routine.
I’m sorry I made you cry.
I really wasn’t worth it.
I hate what I have become
And how I can’t commit.
So this is for all six of you,
To let you know you weren’t the only one.
I left the other five too
And in the end no one won.
