She is running

A hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction

She is trying

But the canyon's ever widening

In the depths of her cold heart

So she sets out on another misadventure just to find

She's another two years older

And she's three more steps behind

Do you know how precious you are? How beautiful and unique? Do you know how much appreciation you deserve; ever more than any random that is trying to pick you up can give? Do you even realise how valued you are?
Groaning in frustration, she sank to her knees on the floor as the words sunk into her being, speaking to her soul.

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

Or does anybody even know she's going down today

Under the shadow of our steeple

With all the lost and lonely people

Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

Honey, do you realise your worth, even when you feel like it’s been taken away from you one hundred times over? Don’t you see that there’s the most beautiful soul just crying out, wanting to be recognised and cherished?
She felt the tears stream down as she ached for her best friend, questioning when the day will be that she gets through to this beautiful soul.

She is yearning

For shelter and affection

That she never found at home

She is searching

For a hero to ride in

To ride in and save the day

And in walks her prince charming

And he knows just what to say

Momentary lapse of reason

And she gives herself away

Do you realise however much affection you lavish on him, it won’t make a difference unless he’s the one for you? Do you realise how much it can hurt you to get so tied up so quickly?
She raised her voice, belting out the song along with her player, so much frustration coming out as her tears poured with her cluttered thoughts.

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

Or does anybody even know she's going down today

Under the shadow of our steeple

With all the lost and lonely people

Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me

Does anybody hear her? Can anybody see?

If judgment looms under every steeple

If lofty glances from lofty people

Can't see past her scarlet letter

And we never even met her

Do you realise how much safer it can be to hold onto those strong friendships; to take the time to establish them, get to know a person’s soul and their heart? Do you realise how much I want for you but that it’s you who has to do this for yourself? Do you realise I’ll wait all hours with you until you get to a place where you’re happy in your soul?

If judgment looms under every steeple

If lofty glances from lofty people

Can't see past her scarlet letter

And we never even met her

Never even met her

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?

Or does anybody even know she's going down today

Under the shadow of our steeple

With all the lost and lonely people

Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?

Does anybody even know she's going down today?

Under the shadow of our steeple

With all the lost and lonely people

Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me

Does anybody hear her? Does anybody see?

He is running a hundred miles an hour in the wrong direction

I just think this is the most beautiful song and so true for so many people. If it speaks to any of you out there, consider taking a look at my story, Pulse. It’s still very much writing in the making, but this is the theme of that story. We’re worth so much more than the used way we feel after making a simple mistake. Don’t talk yourself into accepting second best, wait for the genuine article – he’s so worth it. Christine
