Can love exist

without the existence of trust?

Can heartache be prevented

without loyalty?

A tree of strength,

standing tall.

If its roots were rotten,

wouldn't it fall?

A bird of peace,

flying high.

If its wings were broken,

wouldn’t it die?

…

A couple in love,

denying the truth.

They have broken wings

and failing roots.

…

They stay. Broken.

Beyond repair.

There may be love,

but the trust isn’t there.
