Wish

I watch the moon rise in the night sky

The stars slowly twinkle into existence

I find the brightest star and make a wish

I wish that I will be able to see

The moon rise and stars twinkle

Tomorrow night

I watch the moon’s shimmering image in the lake

I know in my heart that I will always be a part of the night

And the night will always be a part of me

I watch as the moon and stars disappear

To be replaced by the sun and clouds
