digi-gal-rox: well, chapter 1 up! and chapter 2 in the making... hope yaz lyke it!
"My god," he breathed as a bright light began to fly through the sky, shattering every glass in its path. Running as hard as he could, he found his way to the main ship, where soldiers were still preparing the ship. "We have to hurry it's making its way here, and fast!"
"We need more time!" Master Cheif Rowan Trout exclaimed, "We still need to load the weapons!"
"The safety of our citizens is more important," Visor Plato bellowed, "Board the ships! And contact the pods!"
"Yes sir!"
"But-" Rowan started.
"That's an order, Master Cheif Trout." Visor glared at the man.
"Admiral!" Captain Tom Jones exclaimed, with Lieutenant Nicole Wilson behind him, "The Exco are on their way!"
"Get to your post, Captain." Visor muttered, "Once we launch you and your team head out."
"Sir!" Tom saluted before rushing into the ship.
"And you-" he faced Nicole, "CIC controls." Nicole glowered. She knew how much the Admiral had disliked her, so much that he would rather have her doing desk work, than the work she was more qualified for.
"Yes sir."
"Something isn't right," Rachel Headey murmured. Jillian McGekas starred at her curiously.
"What do you mean?" the raven haired woman asked. The blonde woman sighed heavily, as they exited the life pods.
"I think Tom is gonna head out." she said fearfully, watching as several soldier run past them. Jillian smiled at her sympathatically.
"It's gonna be O.K, Rach." her friend murmured. There were several screams of panic as the ship, Nisider shook violently, throwing the surviving citizens to the floor. "What was that?!"
"Get them to the rooms!" a voice bellowed. "Prepare for take of!" Master Chief Andy Marsden ordered. "Jay, ready to head out?"
"Ready," Tom nodded, as the over head closed in. "Let's do this,"
There were screams of pleas as the wave of light covered the entire land, incinerating many civilians in one blast. As the bright light faded, the only beings left were the Exco's, walking stonily down the street, shooting down the ship that had taken off.
"It's too late," a blonde woman muttered. Glancing at her slightly, the silver machine took off in the opposite
direction, followed by other silver machines. The blonde woman smiled to herself, walking over the remains of the human bodies. Ashes. The wind picked up, blowing them away. Everything was going according to plan.
"Number 65, head back." a voice said in her ear.
"Copy that, Number 41."
"Report," Visor order, entering the bridge. Several CIC's looks up before reporting one by one. Rubbing his temples, the Admiral made his way to the center of the bridge, where a large table sat, and just behind it his seat.
"We've lost them." Petty Officer Miranda Wales reported. "And Rear Admiral Lang has just boarded, sir." Visor cursed silently. "Debnam is escorting the Rear Admiral as we speak."
"What about the other Pods, are we able to find them?"
"Negative." Nicole reported, "We've already alerted other colonies to pick them up if found."
"Send out a search party." Visor ordered.
"But sir-" Spike spoke up, "Shouldn't we save our men for the fight?"
"Team Sniper has just boarded." Nicole reported, as she continued inputting information into the computer.
"How many civillians do we have on board?" Visor asked.
"Sir, we've so far only counted 20, pluss a pregnant woman."
"Any doctors aboard?"
"Aye sir." Nicole nodded, "Apart from our own medic Dr. Wilson, there is also a Dr. Cain."
"Send him to the medic bay."
"Her,"
"Excuse me?" Visor glared at the brunette.
"Dr. Cain is a woman, sir."
"Than send 'her' to the medic bay."
"Aye sir."
"That was awesome!" Ensign William Bose exclaimed, jumping out of his Viper.
"This isn't a game, Ensign." Tom said, climbing out.
"Ofcourse, sir." William quickly saluted the Captain. "It's just that we did kick some ass!"
"Even so, we may be doing this everyday, and if we're lucky not so often." the sandy haired man sighed heavily, dumping his helmet aside, "Get some rest, team. You'll be needing it."
"Captain!" Tom tunred around as the team headed for the exit.
"What is it, Andy?" Tom asked.
"Rachel has boarded the ship. She's at your quarters." Tom's face brightened.
"Rachel? She survived?"
"It appears so, Captain." Smiling to himself, Andy noted that Tom's features had soften somewhat.
"As you were, Master Chief."
"Tell me, Wilson," Dana Anderson asked, slapping her fellow soldier on the back playfully, "What's it like being stuck as CIC?"
"Shove off, Anders." Nicole snapped.
"The Admiral sure hates your ass."
"That's because my father was promised the job as Admiral but turned it down. Now shove off, Anders. You're still on duty." Dana smirked, watching the brunette walk off.
"And by the way! Rachel is aboard!"
"What's wrong?" Christopher looked at his daughter worriedly as she paced up and down in the medic center.
"I have a bad feeling about something, dad." she murmured, "I just can't put my finger on it." the old man sighed heavily looking down at the ground.
"Is this due to my turning down Admiral?"
"No, sir. It's not." Nicole shook her head violently. Her brows frowed.
"What is it than?"
"I'm not sure..." she murmured, "But I know something bad will happen, if not now... soon."
"Rachel!" Tom exclaimed, hugging the blonde woman tightly. "I thought I lost you." he murmured.
"I'm here Tom," she smiled gently at him, returning the hug. "I'm just glad that you're all right." he kissed her passionately on the lips, before pulling away at the sound of a knock on the door.
"What?" he asked, breathlessly.
"Captain, a pod has been found. The Rear Admiral has asked that you greet the Government." Nicole's voice came. "The Admiral has asked that all soldiers should be there." Cursing silently, Tom straighened himself, before kissing his girlfriend once again, before opening the door.
"The Government, Wilson?" he asked, as Rachel clung to his arm tightly. Nicole starred at Rachel for a moment before returning her gaze back at Tom.
"The President, Vice President and the other politicians." she responded, turning around slightly. "Petty Officer Miranda will take you to the bridge." she added, as a smallish girl appeared behind her. Saluting the two, she took off, following the small crowd of soldiers.
There was a wave of murmur, as the President stepped onto the podium, with the Vice President just beside him. The press, and the soldiers stood, relief planted on their faces. Out in the front, the Admiral, Rear Admiral, General and Captain stood calmly, awaiting for the speach the President Lee Writer was about to give.
"Lieutenant." Commander Spike greeted her from behind.
"Spike?" Nicole turned around surprised. Glad that she was in the back of the hall, she let out a sigh of relief.
"And here I thought, I would be the on in the back," Spike grinned, eyeing the crowd before them. The brunette man couldn't help but snort as the Captain attempted to silence the room. Nicole shook her head.
"Will you ever grow up, Spike?"
"You're talking to a guy you grew up with, Wilson." he shrugged. "Around you, I'll always be like this." she let out
a small giggle.
"One thing to remind me of home." she smiled softly.
"That can work," he shrugged, glancing down at his child hood friend.
"Tell me again how the name Spike got hooked onto you again, Danny?" she asked, teasingly.
"I blame you," he accused, as the President began his speach. "One small incident with a thorn bush, and you stuck that name on me for the rest of my life! It's already branded on me!" she let out a loud laugh, causing Tom to approach them, as the speach continued.
"Something you want to share, Commander? Lieutenant?"
"No, not really." Nicole shook her head, Spike couldn't help but chuckle at her nervousness, as Tom shook his head and left.
"You like him, don't you?" he teased. Nicole shook her head, her eyes had fallen.
"He lost me a long time ago, Danny." she said quietly.
"Tell me, Doc." the Admiral said slowly, "You're telling me that there are people here... who've been modified?" Christopher nodded his head, slowly.
"Before the Exco fought back, there were experiments going on. DNA manipulation, changing the capabilities of children. For example, they can be great soldiers, in one instant. In another they can be great artists."
"And these victims... how many are on this ship?"
"Two." Stephanie said quietly. "Danny Freeman. Best known as Spike and Nicole Wilson." the Admiral looked at Chris surprised.
"Your daughter?"
"There was a man, that the Exco killed. Jaq Renaldo. No one knew of his experience. And while I was doing my degree my... wife went to see him." Chris's eyes fell.
"My god..." Visor breathed. "How many more of them are there?"
"We can't say for sure." Stephanie responded. "There are many more from different colonies. There are rumors that he was a betrayer of the Excos." Visor sat down slowly.
"My daughter is a good soldier, Admiral." Chris starred at the soldier that sat before him. "Spike and my daughter were the last victims of this hideos plot. Their capabilities are far beyond any other victims."
"What do you mean, Doc."
"While there was already a name for these beings." Stephanie said slowly, "Ultra." she paused, glancing at Chris
nervously who nodded. "These two, according to the last remaining report of Renaldo, they are the Ultimate Ulta's."
"Do... they know?" Visor asked.
"They do."
"Does anyone else know?"
"None that I'm aware off." Visor paused, drumming his finger against his knee.
"How good are they in combat?"
"The best, I've ever seen." Chris responded.
"Hi-ya!" Nicole kicked Spike as hard as she could, but he evaded easily.
"You gotta do better than that, Wilson." he taunted, teasingly. Nicole smirked, before knocking him to the ground.
"I was always the better fighter." he smirked, wiping his leg on the ground causing her to fall.
"No, you were the one best in the computer classes, Ace."
"Eh-hem." Both looked up to see the Admiral and the Captain standing before them. Quickly jumping to their feet, the two soldier straightened themselves, still breathing heavily.
"With recent discovery, you two will now have new posts." Visor said pacing up and down. "You both will be under the command of the Captain. You will follow his every orders, when on duty, reporting to him when on duty. Do you understand?"
"Aye, sir."
