HARU KOU

(Spring Season)

---------------------------------------

A lovers’ promise made in spring

Uncertain of what the future will bring

To part ways will hurt more than you can fathom

Like facing a dark, raging storm at random

The sun breaks out and the world is right

The lovers hold each other tight

Summer comes and scorches everything

The dried out husks dissolve into nothing

Leaves start to fall all around

The trees are bare but they cry without sound

Gritting their teeth, trying to numb the pain

Lying in silence, waiting for rain

Winter comes and everything freezes

The lilies die, and so do the roses

Against the bitter cold they march on

Waiting hopefully for the coming of dawn

Then flowers bloom and grow again

Reinvigorated and with more to gain

The lovers hold each other and cling

To the hope that it will start, again in spring

-----------------------------------------------------

Author's Notes: Once again, thank you for reading another of my works. 'haru' means 'spring' and 'kou' means 'season', so you get the title. Next, i wondered if you saw the connection between the lovers and all the beauties of nature i compared them with. I hope you saw the storyline in my poem. ü
