In The Stairwell

Liam had no idea what he was even doing there. He pressed his face to the cool window pane in the stairwell. Prom was supposed to be fun but to him, it was horrible. He couldn’t even dance.

The dancing was what he was secretly looking forward to. But he just couldn’t. He didn’t know how. Not only that, but there was no one to dance with. Sure he was cute. “Okay,” Liam whispered. He shifted nervously for a second before saying, “Xander, do you – would you – um… wanna dance?”

“I’d love to but I’ll admit I’m a bad dancer.” Liam smiled at Xander’s comment.

“That’s okay, I’m probably worse.” Just then, the announcement came for the last song of the night. Xander and Liam grinned at each other.

Seconds later found the boys on the dance floor with their arms around each other swaying to the slow beat. Liam looked into Xander’s green eyes and they began to drift closer. Liam could feel the hot breath from Xander brushing his face. Closer and closer their faces came until…
