Saturated

I step into the twilight, gazing to the sky

There are no stars out tonight

Simply the ether thick and full

Heavy with child

And suddenly and without warning

She breaks down over me

Spilling the contents of her very soul

Upon me and the Earth

The hungry ground beneath me

Greedily imbibes the sweet, clean

Amniotic syrup of life until she

Is sated, letting the cool, crisp flow over

Pool and cover her naked skin.

The bursting clouds continue to pour

Torrential waters better suited for

Far and distant open waters

Than over me as I stand

Among the hidden moon

The quiet approach of dawn masked

By the unrelenting sky

To the satisfied earth

And yet I stand between them all

Letting the rain fall down on me

And soak me to the bone.
