ouroboros

by crystal tiara

the serpent devours

its own tail,

creating a wheel

of no beginnings

and no ends,

like the dreary days

of living in

this bubble-like existence.

Author’s Notes: This poem was based on the ouroboros, a symbol of a serpent eating its own tail, thus forming a circle. Although it has been used to symbolize several things – be it in religion, psychology, or alchemy – it usually represents cyclicality.
