Dead end

I am a dark road

Like an immovable path traveled by many

Stepped upon by the weary and ungrateful voyagers

My skin is the asphalt, dark but dependable

A façade to cover my unknown emotions

My atmosphere is darkness

Many pioneers with uncertain futures

Put their trust in my words

Like the neon white guidelines that makes

Their destination inevitable

My disposition is a street light

When the darkness surrounds

And the light is abandoned behind you

My spirit is like a glimmer of hope

Helping those who have gone astray find their way

Just a step at a time

My mind is well constructed

But taken for granted

My thoughts, as the road, over used and easily forgotten

My presence, never missed until a dead end

My body is under the weather

The storms hit me like a disease

My asphalt cracks under the pressure of too many journeys

The end is near

Something constructions cannot fix
