Lies, Deceit, and Sin

Oh what a tangled web we weave

When my heart learned to deceive

The hurt and lies were all in vain

And now I’m left with this deep pain

My soul is rotting in your misery

As I watch the evil around me

Just one more sip of this sweet sin

Cause in the end I’ll never win

Just one more stab at my sore heart

And my whole world is torn apart

That spider of chaos is testing my mind

To see how my morals have fallen behind

The riddles of hatred and trials of lust

Have crumbled before me in ashes and dust

I look for the angel; it still hides its face

What happened to mercy, hope, and grace?

The venom has poisoned all that was right

And now my life’s stuck in the darkest of night

Those webs have taken and strangled my light

Now all my sweet dreams have me crying in fright
