Eyes of the Jester

Rain falls gently on ginger blossoms
The smoke swirls skywards
Emptying into the blue above
Akin to a murky tributary
Depositing itself into ocean

Eyes awaken in the distant horizon
They twinkle like Orion
As he makes his winterly hunt
To slay the Bull

The eyes look back at me from every direction
Peering out behind the masks
They smile at me softly from behind the curtains
And whisper softly
"Enjoy the play!"

I chuckle lightly
And sit back with eager anticipation
To see what frivolities will unravel next
Upon this great stage
The greatest stage of all
