I’m Breaking

Silence is but an illusion to me
Deep inside, I know no such thing.
The noise within can tear me apart
I can feel myself breaking.

The music of my soul flows,
Can you not feel it?
The sad symphonies of the piano and violin,
I think I can ignore the pain a bit.

The music of my soul plays,
Can you not hear it?
The screaming chords, the electric guitar,
My tears just won’t quit.

The music of my soul won’t stop
The sound gets louder and louder
The drums and the bass, I can’t take it!
The wound keeps getting deeper.

Just as I’m about to break down,
Something pierces through the noise.
The lyrics to the song of my heart,
The sweet melody of your voice.

I am made whole again.
