Read and Review!

Luv, I-B-Y-F, xxx

Watery summer sunshine filters through a dirty window, lighting up two little boys playing with cars inside a wooden childrens’ fort. One little boy has sandy blonde hair, a cute smile and big warm hazel eyes. The other boy has a mop of dark brown hair, a childish expression of concentration and dark blue laughing eyes.

“Lukie!” calls a warm motherly voice from somewhere outside.

“Yes mum!?” calls back the sandy haired boy absentmindedly.

“It’s tea-time! You and Jon need to come inside now!” Both boys clamber reluctantly out of their fort, their own little world and walk back to the house hand in hand. It doesn’t matter that they hold hands, because their best friends, and, besides, they’re only six years old and it doesn’t mean anything to them

Luke and Jon are sitting reading magazines in their fort.

“Where’s the crisps?” asks Jon, face scrunched up in confusion as his dark blue eyes scan the fort’s interior, seeing no crisps anywhere in their little haven.

“Doh!” says Luke, hitting his head in an impression of his favourite cartoon character. “I left them in the house” he says, a guilty grin on his face. Jon throws a bouncy ball at him.

“Hey!” squeaks Luke in indignation, then launches himself at Jon. They wrestle playfully, laughing and screeching until Jon has to go home. They walk back to the house hand in hand, just best friends doing something they’ve always done that doesn’t bother them at all. It doesn’t really matter, besides, they’re still only nine years old.

Jon runs a hand through short spiky dark brown hair and glances up at Luke. Luke grins then looks back at his Gameboy. Jon does the same. There is no sound but the tapping of buttons in the small fort. It has got smaller over the years to the two boys, they are barely comfortable in the space now. They play for hours and hours, occasionally stopping for a chat or to dig out refreshments. Their silences don’t need filling. A long while after they began, Luke looks at his watch.

“We need to go back in now, Jon.” Jon yawns lazily and tries to stretch. Luke laughs as he bumps his head.

“We’re getting too big for this aren’t we?” Luke shrugs.

“Maybe a little bit too big I guess.” They clamber out, stretching in the sunshine before holding hands and walking back to the house. Their mothers find it a little odd that they still do it, but they know the boys are still young and will grow out of it soon enough, they are just friends anyway, still only twelve years old.

“Hey, Luke, look what I’ve found” says Jon with a grin, beckoning to the hazel eyed boy. Luke joins him as he pushes aside a bush to reveal a small door.

“It’s our old fort! I haven’t been in there in years, I’d forgotten it was there!” exclaims Luke with a laugh. “Come on Jon, let’s go in!” Jon rolls his eyes, but agrees. Both boys wriggle with difficulty into the confined space.

“Bloody hell Luke, this place has shrunk since I was last in it” says Jon, finding himself barely able to move in the small room, pressed in on by walls and Luke. The other boy laughs and shifts slightly, allowing both boys to sit.

“We used to call this our special little world, Jon, you remember, we never went in alone and used to walk back to the house hand in hand, always.” Jon smiles in the semi-dark room and moves to try and get comfortable, ending up with his face just a few inches from Luke’s.

“Why did we stop coming here and holding hands? Why’d it get so awkward?” Jon asks Luke, soft warm breaths ghosting across Luke’s face.

“Well, maybe…” says Luke softly, wriggling a little, voice shaky, “maybe things changed in us somehow.” Jon makes a noise of assent in the back of his throat, taking note of Luke’s shaky voice and the rapid heartbeat heart-beat close to his own

“Yeah, I think you’re right” he says softly, leaning down a little to press his lips softly against his best friend’s. They both stay still for a moment before Luke lets out a long sweet sigh and presses his mouth back against Jon’s more insistently. Jon is consumed by the need to taste Luke and claims his mouth with his tongue, tracing every little bit, then letting Luke do the same. They break apart, smiling.

“We should go back to the house,” says Luke softly.

“I know,” says Jon, moving uncomfortably to ease his way out of the little doorway then helping the blonde out behind him. “I love you, Luke, you know that right?” Luke grins and nods, pressing a soft kiss to the dark haired boy’s lips, looking up into his gorgeous dark blue eyes.

“Love you too, gorgeous.” Jon rolls his eyes. The boys entwine their fingers, knowing now why it had always felt so right, even though they’ve got older. They walk at a leisurely pace towards to the house. It doesn’t matter that they’re holding hands, because they’re best friends, it doesn’t matter when they kiss each other sweetly either, because they are seventeen years old and head over heels in love.

So, what did you think? Like it, didn't like it? Too sweet, not sweet enough? Tell me!

So, review pretty please my angels!

Bye!
