I met myself today,

amongst the surreal fields of the conscious and subconscious,

I met myself today.

I saw myself smiling,

smiling with that unfaltering pearl grin,

making the oysters jealous?

I saw myself hanging from a tree,

like a bendable wire hanger,

changing slightly, a cameleon to coming challenges.

We, two, then went for a walk amongst the flora,

and I quite liked myself,

the sun's rays invited me to dance,

the air invited me to joke, to love,

I said, "there is no better way to please the air".

I met myself today,

and I realized that what they say holds truth,

I am often wonderful,

despite what I'd like myself to believe.

Today me and I held hands,

in such a juvenile way,

I met myself today,

and then I put myself away.
