In my English class, we were told to write a dialogue between two people that showed the personalities of said people and their situation without writing anything other than dialogue. I wonder if you can figure this out…does it make sense to you or are you really that thick?
Susan: This is absolutely ridiculous. I can’t believe you did this to me! You really don’t care about anyone but yourself, do you?
Brian: What are you muttering about? It’s three in the morning!
S: Nothing! I was just…getting a drink. I’ll be right back.
B: Fine, just don’t forget to close the tent. I don’t want to be eaten alive by bugs as I sleep.
S: Does it matter that you’re sleeping?
B: Well, I’m not sleeping now, am I? The point is, last night you left the tent open and I spent my day discovering new mosquito bites, ok?
S: All right, all right. Jeez… That guy sure is picky…
B: What was that?
S: Nothing! My goodness. You need to see a doctor or something if you keep hearing voices like this.
B: Just get out, would you? I’m trying to sleep!
S: Fine, look, I’m leaving! Some people; they have no respect for others, do they? And you! You’re the worst of them, getting me stuck out in the middle of nowhere like this, with no one else for company but that lazy man in the tent… Shame on you! He’s your friend! I may have gotten us into this, but he can get us out. Now. Say you’re sorry! No. I won’t. He deserves it and you know it.
B: You find the water ok?
S: Yes I did, actually. Did you think I would get lost or something?
B: Well, you are prone to… Oh don’t look at me like that! I’m just kidding.
S: Yeah, sure you are…
B: Who were you talking to, by the way? I thought we were the only two people here.
S: Oh no! He’s discovered us. Quick, lie!
B: What?
S: Nothing! I was just…em…you’re imagining things! Again!
B: Imagining things, am I? You were definitely talking to someone, I heard you!
S: You’re right. I was.
B: Well, who was it? Has someone finally found us?
S: Yes.
B: Finally! Oh thank goodness! We’ve been out here for almost a week now; it’s about time. So, where is this savior of ours?
S: Quick, think of something clever!
B: What?
S: Nothing! He…um…he…he died! Yes. He died. Very sad.
B: He died? Someone finally finds us in the middle of the night and talks to you and he dies?
S: em…yes?
B: I don’t believe this.
S: Oh no! He found out! What are we going to do?
B: What are you talking about? Found out about what?
S: Ahhhhh!
B: Close the tent!
