Girl in the Window

By E.B. Keane-Farrell

Inspired by “Muchacha en la ventana”, by Salvador Dalí

The girl in the window

Sees the sea, a dreamer

And a beauty.

Her short dress worn with content,

Loose and plain.

The window is open;

The beautiful sea watches the girl.

The sun touches the sky –

Noon arrives.

She sees the sails unfurl,

And the boats fly to the ocean.

She draws the curtains with a shaky hand.

The sunlight fills the room.

She closes her eyes;

The wind brings salt to her nose.

A new dream is born.
