The Fire Wielder

Prologue

Very long ago, there was a group of people called Fire Wielder; wielders of fire with the ability to create and control fire. For centuries, Fire Wielders lived in peace with society.

Then one day, a fire wielder showing off his abilities scared some local townsfolk and was accused of attacking them. Without question, the people arrested him and threw him in jail.

His friends came to his rescue but unfortunately, they killed some of the guards with their fire wielding in the process. Rumor spread and Fire Wielders could no longer be trusted.

Not wanting his people to be persecuted, the head chief of the fire wielders declared that he would take back all their fire wielding. At first, the fire wielders rebelled. The head chief then told them that one day their wielding would return to them through one of their descendents. He would receive fire wielding at the age of sixteen but would then need a teacher. It therefore would be their responsibility to teach their children the technique of fire wielding and tell them to teach their children and so on; for if they didn’t, the Fire Wielder would use his power without care. If this happened, his power would control him, turning him into a monster.

One who heard this part especially was an ex-fire wielder named Marautno. He thought that maybe he could use this power to his advantage. So instead of teaching his family the technique of fire wielding, he betrayed the fire wielders, claiming to the king that the fire wielders were planning an attack on his kingdom. At this information, the king planned his own attack on the fire wielders. Some of them escaped and went into hiding but most of their cultural items and historical books of their ancestors were destroyed.

The fire wielders became spread out over the land secretly and cautiously trying to teach their children about the technique of fire wielding, while as Marautno told his children to always be on the look out for ex-fire wielders.

One of Marautno’s descendents became so dedicated to finding ex-fire wielders, he decided to make powerful warriors that could help him with his family’s goal; he began a study on the body and the brain inspecting how the body could move and inspecting the senses and how the brain worked. He eventually came up with a new way of fighting; he called people who fought in this way Black Ninjas. They were undefeatable. They could over come any obstacle and trial. They were stronger then fifteen men out together.

This way of fighting was perfect! There was just one problem; women couldn’t become black ninjas and people wouldn’t volunteer to become one. Marautno’s descendents came to the conclusion of taking boys at the age of ten, have them commit an unforgivable crime then tell them that the people they knew were trying to rule the land and that they had been lied to all their lives.

Black Ninjas became the new threat to humanity. And in time, the only ones who knew about the new Fire Wielder were the ex-fire wielders and the black ninjas.

It has been seventy years since black years first came to be.
