Sonnet #2: Fair Maiden

Fair Maiden, a thousand drops of music

Cascading, falling, trembl’ng off thy cheek.

Shall I try to catch it ‘less I lose it?

‘Tis the beauty, I ask, I long to keep?

Oh Fair Maiden, embrace the symphony

Of a never-ending ocean of sound

A spell of differing reality

Whatever thy mind would seem to allow.

Fair Maiden, close thy eyes and forget to be

And I will dare not break my stare

For the music of the great sky and sea

I proclaim they doth not to you compare.

The words I write are so softly laden

And they be writ for you, oh Fair Maiden.
