Soil rich and ripe,
Dark as the night.
A night that gives life to it.
Engenders the senses.

As wind whispers like childs breath;
Fragile, precarious.
Heavy footsteps strum softly,
In the midst of this pounding heart.

Sound explodes in strained ears.
Door slammed, wood to frame.
Hands marked print on smooth skin;
Recurring nightmare, wakens.

Reticence required, by women wed.
Protector dead, shell remaining.
Effortless pugnacity.
Thoughts drain, commotion drowned.

Soil, rich and ripe,
Dark as night.
Night that gives it life.
As all else dies.
