Prologue

The abominations were created at the start of the year 2020. Wonderland Corps, a company owned by the government, injected chemically-enhanced cells into the bodies of infants at random. They were then tracked and watched to observe the growth and production of the cells they carried. Each experiment was given a special code-name, corresponding on the cells they were injected with.

Starting with ‘The Queen of Hearts’ and ending with ‘The Dormouse’, the subjects began developing strange and unique behavior and traits.

In order to control the experiments and to keep better track of them, one last baby was injected. The cells given to the final child were special - unlike any of the others.

Because each of the subjects were code-named for various characters in Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland, it was obvious what the last subject was called.

Alice.

She would be the one to gather the other experiments for the government. One they were all together, they would form an incredible power, beyond those they held individually. Wonderland Corps wanted to use this power as a weapon in future wars. No other country would be able to surpass the fifteen experiments.

For a long time, they figured everything would be fine. But when one of the most important subjects tried to move to another country, a possible threat became of question. Each of the experiments lived individual lives. If they were to leave the United States, another country could gain control of them. And if that happened, Wonderland Corps would have their own weapon used against them.

This was too much of a risk, so the government came up with a final conclusion. They would have to destroy the experiments before things got out of hand.

‘Project Looking-Glass’, a scientific weapon creation that had taken almost a decade to build, had to be shut down.

((Uwah! My first sci-fi story! I'm so proud. Yay! Anywho, taking a break from the AoM series for now. I also ditched my last story. I couldn't figure out where to get it moving and it didn't do much good anymore, seeing as how the feelings I was trying to push through it have finally been spoken. This story is dedicated to my cosplay friends. Because my last series was started before I met all of them, I thought something new and fresh should be made for my new friends. And here we are. I hope you all enjoy it! Maybe this will become as good and as loved as the AoM Series.))
