A Poet’s Pain

There’s nothing more creative than a poet’s pain.
To just let inspiration pass would be a shame.
Seems to be some cruel and jet everlasting game,
to put in simple words that your heart’s been slain.

But just how much more will he be able to take,
because you can tell that his words are not fake.
Start to worry - but just for your personal sake,
the bitter truth is - you’re waiting for him to break.

With every desperate word, a part of him will go,
leaving this world full of hurt in a steady flow.
His energy and strength keep on running low,
but you are way to foolish to truly know.

And when it is to late, you will finally see,
that this tortured and lonely soul belonged to me.
