Okay. A story. About...well, I don't know yet. I just hope you guys all R&R!! I need constructive criticism... Right? Sharky.

I stare at the crack in the mirror, glaring at the reflection. No, I think. I am completely human. There is nothing inhuman about me. Life is just barely starting to go right. So who can come up to me and declare that I'm not fully human? How can someone as plain and sadly dull and normal as me be inhuman? But now, staring at the mirror, I can just barely see it now, examining myself so critically. The silver is showing, very subtly, but still very there.

But I can't be inhuman now. Not this very moment. Not today. No. I can't. It's not right. Who gave these creatures, these things, the right to come and destroy my life so thouroughly?

But then again... Maybe the idea isn't so horrible... Maybe it won't be so hard to embrace this destiny... But maybe things will go wrong and I'll be destroyed as viciously as they can possibly do so... Maybe nothing will happen at all. Maybe... Maybe. Such a small word, such a strong impact.

I took a deep breath and prepared myself. It was time. It was time to step out into the world and not to let my fate control me, but to become my fate.
