Lost

What is this you feel?

Something has gripped your heart

Holding tightly on to it

This heavy weight has befallen it

Pulling at it

Trying to rip it apart

It’s unbearable

A dark hand is reaching for your soul

To tear up what’s left of you

You want to escape

But the realization is setting in

Fear works it way through your mind

Your body shivers

You begin to feel numb

You begin to understand what’s happening

Your stomach feels sick

Your face begins to pale

Your mind is spinning

You bite your lip to keep from crying,

This causes you to bleed

You can taste the blood in your mouth

If only the pain would go away,

Then maybe you could think clearly

The dread is rising

You can’t feel your body at all now

You begin to wonder who you are anymore

The grief has taken over

It changed you

You are no longer recognizable

You let pain of their departure imprison you

By suppressing your hurt,

You have lost yourself

To the dark abyss.

You must learn to move on

To let go of the pain and anger you feel

Because if you don’t,

You may never know happiness again.

If you don’t,

You may be lost forever.
