Nevermind, we never made promises
We never said that it would work
We didn't give it everything we had
We didn't jump in head first

And for the record it was all your idea
Though now it feels like it's all mine
I always knew we'd never find our bearings here
I know we're probably just wasting our time

After a while the colors all run together
And after a while the faces start to look the same
As here we are, running through this maze together
Until the day we both give up and quit the game

Nevermind, it's not such a big deal to us
We know what it's all about
Three years from today we'll be on a bus
We'll sell our stuff and just get out

This town ain't big enough for the two of us
Especially not for you
We know the drive will be dangerous
But somehow we'll make it through
