To those of you just reading my work, thanks for clicking! You might want to read my other story in order for this story to make much sense... "Esther's Journal" is a good story on it's own but I wrote another story before this and it will give you a little more insight into what's going on here... Which ever way you choose to read this, thank you for reading and I appreciate reviews. If you review something of mine, I will return the favor. Happy reading!

Dear Diary,

Here I am starting my first diary. I’ve never done this before but I’ve seen my sister do it. I suppose I should start out by telling you who I am. My name is Esther Miller, and I am twelve years old, but people tell me I act and look older. I have two older sisters, who are very different from each other. Sasha is the oldest at 22. She is the “perfect, dutiful, honor thy parents” daughter. Jasmine is 17. She’s a bit of a trouble maker. Sometimes I think she does things just to get on mom and dad’s nerves. My mom’s name is Alyson and my dad’s name is Kevin. I won't tell you how old they are.

I like horses and cats. I know that I wouldn’t be able to own a horse in the city but my parents won’t let me have a cat. Something about dad being allergic to them... If his allergies are so bad, he should try keeping all the dust covered clutter out of our house.

Our house is a mess. My parents like to keep anything and everything. They even have receipts from some 20 years ago. My room is clean. Not like Sasha’s or even Jazz’s, though Jazz does pretty well.

I have a best friend. Her name is Brooke. She’s twelve like me and lives just around the corner. We always go over to each others houses. And she has two cats. A white one and a black and orange one. She’s lucky. She let me name the black and orange one. I named it Tiger. The white one’s name is Blanche. Brooke has an older brother who’s really nice. His name is Matt, and he’s 21. Sasha really liked him, but he doesn’t date. It’s a good thing he doesn’t; there’d be all these girls lining up to go out with him... Oh, wait... that still happens...

I attend a large church in Rocklin. There is a big youth group with some hundred kids of all grades. Pastor Mark Burke is the youth pastor and Tina is his wife. They are both really awesome and super nice. They always hold youth gatherings and stuff at their house.

It’s really cool how they met. Tina is actually from Australia and came to the United States to further her studies to become a pediatrician. She was attending a Christian conference with her brother when she met Mark, and the rest is history. The youth group threw them a huge wedding party, but I don’t remember it because that was, like, six years ago. She has such a gorgeous accent. I like listening to people’s accents and mimicking the way they talk. I can do several people I know quite well, like a certain older lady at church who talks a lot and loudly. :P

Well, I can’t think of anything else to say so I guess I’ll be going now.

Dear Diary,

Yes, I know, I haven’t been keeping up with my writing. It’s just, sometimes I don’t feel like writing. Anyway, Sasha called tonight. The thing is after she calls, my parents get into this habit of trying to press Jazz and me into “Sasha” molds. She was apparently the quiet child, didn’t throw tantrums or fuss much as a baby. So they think that Jazz and me should be like that, too. And now that Sasha’s a good student who gets straight A’s and is a honor student or whatever in some fancy college, they want us to do that, too.

The youth group is putting on a Nativity scene at church for Christmas. I was chosen to play the part of Mary. I’m so excited I can hardly do anything properly! Brian Dyer is going to play the part of Joseph. Brooke is so envious. She’s had a crush on the guy since the first grade. I don’t see what the big deal is. I mean he’s cute and all but he’s just a really good person. Anyway, I think it’s going to be an amazing play.

I’ve got my homework to do, so I’ll go now.

Dear Diary,

Please excuse my shaky handwriting, but I hurt my hand. I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start at the start.

As I said before, Jazz didn’t take Sasha’s call very well. Jasmine’s been acting strangely. So today, Mom had an appointment to go to and Dad was going to take her. They insisted that she come home so she could take care of me. Please... They also insist I not use sharp knives.

Anyway, I was hungry and went up to Jazz’s room to see if she might do me an apple. Yeah, yeah, you probably think I'm crazy for cutting my apples before eating them, but I don't like getting all messy when I eat. Anyway, she looked really into her homework and I thought it be better if I not bother her. I did that one time, but... well... That’s another story. So I went to do it myself and well... cut myself.

So in come Mom and Dad. They look at me bleeding in the kitchen and they go up to Jazz’s room to yell at her for not taking care of me, ignoring the fact that I was still in the kitchen and bleeding. At least Jazz had some sense to see how bad the cut was.

As a result, they grounded her and she can’t be part of youth group activities for a month. She was really upset about it. I even heard her crying on the phone with Pastor Mark about it.

So that is the going ons in the Miller house. Till next time!

Dear Diary,

I think Jazz is having problems. Usually Renee Castle-Rose is around more often and I think something happened over the weekend. Renee is Jazz’s BFF. She’s nice. She’s like another big sister to me. I think Jazz might’ve had a fight with Timothy Aarons, too. Timothy is her boyfriend. All the girls melt to the floor whenever he’s around, but I really don’t see a reason to.

Jazz’s been acting really weird. She snaps at anything and everything. And she’s been fighting with Mom and Dad more. I’m worried about her.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. I think we are going to Auntie Jo’s house for dinner. I’m so excited about seeing my cousins... We always have tons of fun together. Hopefully Jazz will be in a better mood. I think I might talk to Pastor about it. Maybe he can help me figure out what’s wrong.

Thank you for reading! If you review, I will return the favor and review something of yours. Of course, if the review says, "Yay!" and that's it, you might not get a very long review back. I think it's only fair... Anyway, now I sound really mean... I'll stop now...
