So bored

Randomly wandering around Circuit City

Waiting for my mom to stop looking at phones

Figure seen from the corner of my eye

Saying “hey there”

Not paying attention, just raising my hand

Mumbling “hi” back

Crosses to my right

And I turn

Hands fly up to my mouth

“Alex Hersh!” I squeal

Cause he’s just snuck up on me

And then I start laughing

Because out of all people

I was just thinking about him

And because of all people

I never expected him
