Greenhouse to Graveyard

Calm, peaceful, clean,

That was the forest then.

Life and love were everywhere,

In the time before men.

-

No one knew of violence,

And sending others to their grave.

No one knew our fate,

That they would kill us all one day.

-

They came from out of nowhere,

And destroyed all our homes.

When they were done, not one tree stood,

And we were all alone.

-

Loud, chaotic, disheveled,

That is the city now.

Hate and greed are everywhere,

Though we know not quite how.

-

Millions die at their hands,

Every single day.

We try to fight it, but we know

There really is no way.

-

Now the world is choked with smog,

Do they know what they’ve done?

Do they know, in doing this,

That they’ve killed everyone?
