Fawn
Gentle fawn
of woodland glade
rests quietly
in cooling shade
As still as rock
no smell its own
predators pass
small one's presence unknown
Fawn will stay
'till mother deer
returns again
filling milk is near
Then doe will leave
the pattern repeats
yet somehow still
fawn will grow and soon run and leap
