I think everyone's had a moment like this. Reviews are appreciated, always.

She lounged on the backside of a short wall made of pillows, melting into her clothing. The others, whoever they were, chatted, gossiped, flirted and teased each other; occasionally a collective laughter would permeate her shell. As she sank into her coat, she felt her eyes glisten and her torso become denser, a common occurrence. Closing her eyes, she imagined the wall disappearing, but instead of being able to go to chat, gossip, flirt and tease from a lack of barrier, there was an empty space, a blank on a canvas. One would suppose she would draw a bridge there, but all she could see with her mind's eye were rocks.

There were some large rocks, boulders immovable to any man, pushed only by nature or creatures of metal. These enormities had some smooth parts, perhaps a product of wind or sea with time, and some rough areas, somehow discouraged from becoming regular. If she ran her hand over a boulder, her extremity would catch itself on a rough spot. It would be difficult to will it on past that.

Some of the rocks were small, pointy little devils that poked her feet until they bled. No one liked them, they were annoying, but never lethal. Even though none found them friends, they weren't considered foe; they were dealt with indifference. However, some of the small, insignificant rocks were smooth and pretty. You could stack or skip them, sweet and likable.

The remainder of the rocks were medium sized. Some were pretty, others ugly; some regular;, some coarse some evil, some good; but most were a mixture.

As her fingers numbed, she couldn't bring herself back to her body. She saw, she did, she felt, but it had no effect on her emotion. She was as blank as her imagination.
