Happy Birthday Emily!!! This one's for you...

Storm clouds pace the tumultuous sky
Give cover to those the fakes that lie
Warped paradise, this suburban desert so barren
Wasn't meant for a girl this kind, this caring
Or that's what I thought until you actually came along
Until I saw that I saw where you belonged
That it's where you're meant to be
To save all of the dying children , the children like me
You pulled me from the wreckage of a newborn pyre
And stamping out the baby flames, spared a long forgotten fire
You gave me back to will to live, you gave me life itself
You gave the most precious gift, far beyond intrinsic wealth
But you can't fix china that's already cracked
You can't give people the things they've always lacked
Only lend it out, and my book is overdue
I just finished the last chapter, there rests no blame with you
So though it's a farewell, it's a thank you
At least in my own way
For holding the floodgates together, letting me live another day
But this my time go, I have finally snapped
This life is just a vulgar cage, and I'm sick of feeling trapped
And though it brings me great regret, my only words for you are these
Dear guardian, I beg of you, don't try to save me
Please.

So this was for Emily's 15th, and it started out all nice and "Emily, you're my BFF." and "You saved my life." I really tried to make it that way. But a few revisions and added stanzas later it was a suicide note...so apologies for Emily dearest. It's pretty weak at the moment in certain parts. So I might work out those kinks later...for now, it's just in time for her party. Cookies for whoever spots the fall out boy reference.
