Distressed by gloom,
You searched the rooms,
Ransacked the beds -

But you won’t find it here.


author's note: Thank you so much for reading my collection. "For Want of a February 29" is actually what I consider my best from my "Closet Poems" phase. I wrote it in 2006, so there was no extra day in February. The lack of the extra day was the inspiration for it, but the meaning of the poem goes far beyond that.
