Find My Love, Olive Tree

Can’t you see I love you? You,
with your marmite smile and strong hands,
that always burns so coldly.
You once claimed I was your only one,
and, naively, I believed you. Now I’m left to
cry in my pool of dark blue.

Pictures portray the truth, as do words,
Print never lies, unlike your deceptive tongue.
Four days, just four days,
I cry over you, for you, without you,
And you can just confide in anyone but me.
How are you? you ask,
Do you really care? I answer. No.
I’m completely in love with you.

I have been for years –
surely you know that?
I am losing my best friend. In a sense,
you’re already gone.
Please remember, you’re the love of my life.
Don’t leave me and
Don’t take pictures of anyone’s socks but mine.

I have been in love with you from the moment I met you
and how cruelly and quickly time passes.
I have wasted my time, I see, in neglecting you.
I would not feel the heat of green rage so readily
if my love was not pure.
This is partly possession, but surely I deserve you.
And you want me, you said it.
So forget the world.
Run away with me.
Just run…
