Maasai

Traveler, your jewels dazzle my eyes

With promises of glittering tales

From your land of vivid heat.

Traveler, your clothes hint of freedom,

Of smoky evenings and desert days,

Of heady wild savannah as you pass.

Traveler, your voice entrances me,

Lilting cadences weaving tapestries

Of vibrance to match your eyes.

Traveler, artist, elder, friend,

Be welcome, sit, teach me.

My spirit yearns to hear.
